What Siren Insider does and does not collect. Last updated 2026-05-29.
What we collect
Almost nothing. Siren Insider is a static reading site. No analytics scripts, no third-party advertising trackers, no social-platform pixels, no session replay. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) automatically logs visit metadata for standard operational purposes. We do not export or analyze those logs.
What we don't collect
No cookies. No newsletter sign-up. No comments. No search box. Nothing reads from or writes to your browser storage.
If you write to a Siren Insider mailbox, your email and reply chain are kept in our mailbox for as long as the correspondence is active. We do not share them with anyone, do not import them into any CRM, and do not put you on any list.
Source confidentiality
If you contact the tips line and request source confidentiality, the newsroom treats that as a binding obligation. We will not voluntarily disclose your identity to any third party, including in response to civil subpoena, except where compelled by a final court order after exhaustion of newsroom counsel's appeals.
Sponsored content & outbound links
When you click a sponsor link, you leave Siren Insider and enter the sponsor's site. Their privacy practices apply from that point. Sponsors do not see who you are or what you read before clicking through unless they themselves run tracking on the destination page.
Your rights
Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing [email protected]. 30-day response. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah residents have additional rights under state law — same email.
